Board of Directors & Other Valued Volunteers
Each TPF board member has been individually captivated by the majestic beauty and raw power of Patagonia's wilderness. After a combined 31 years of experience in the region, they have joined forces to dedicate their time and resources to support TPF's efforts throughout Patagonia.
Scott Perryman - President and ChairmanThe seeds of The Patagonian Foundation ('TPF') were sown in 1992, when Scott Perryman, TPF's President and a member its Board of Directors, visited Patagonia for the first time. Mr. Perryman has explored Chilean and Argentine Patagonia extensively for the past 12 years discovering the special magic and beauty of Patagonia. In 1999 he cofounded Salvaje Corazon Patagonian Guide Service to share his experiences with fellow travelers. In 2002 he helped found TPF allowing him to give back to the region. When not in Patagonia Scott resides in San Francisco overseeing his design and fabrication company.
Leslie Blickenstaff - Executive Director and Secretary, AttorneyLeslie majored in Spanish at Bowdoin College and first travelled to Chile in 1992. She has practiced law in Boston for eight years. She now dedicates a significant portion of her time to organizing and implementing TPF's projects, managing all aspects of TPF's operations, and advising TPF with respect to its legal obligations. She is fluent in Spanish and passionate about Patagonia, travelling to the region as often as possible.
Cado AvenaliCado has lived and worked in Coyhaique, Chile since 1991. He and his Chilean wife operate Salvaje Corazon, a small tour company. ADVISORY BOARD Peter Keller, San Salvador, El Salvador After receiving a degree in Recreation Management from the University of Montana and a Masters in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, Peter entered a two-year Presidential Management Fellow program in Washington, D.C., which offered him assignments in the Environmental Protection Agency, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service and the U.S. Forest Service. After working with the National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service for many years, he was awarded a two-year fellowship from the Institute of Current World Affairs during which he chronicled the status of public and private protected areas in Chile and Argentina. From 2003-2006, he served as the U.S. Forest Service’s Regional Wilderness and Rivers Program Leader in California. Currently, Peter is the Regional Environmental Advisor for Central America and Mexico with the U.S. Agency for International Development through an agreement with the U.S. Forest Service International Programs. With his extensive environmental background and experience with Chilean and Patagonian public and private lands, Peter offers invaluable strategic guidance and environmental expertise to TPF. OTHER VALUED VOLUNTEERS Pedro Aylwin - Attorney Pedro is an attorney at Aylwin Abogados in Santiago, Chile, where he has worked for 18 years. Pedro obtained an LLM from Notre Dame University and specializes in corporate and environmental law. Pedro advises TPF with respect to its legal obligations in Chile. Audra Katona - Chief Financial Officer Audra Katona has nine years of experience with financial planning. Audra currently retains a number of clients and companies, assisting them with their accounting and recordkeeping. Audra first visited Chile in 1991 and has been traveling throughout South America and Patagonia for the past 12 years. Ruth Cohen Born and raised in Chile, Ruth is a professional photographer and guide. Ruth acts as TPF's coordinator on the ground in Chile, assisting with US/Chile relations, program organization and implementation. Allison Reed Allison participated in the pilot trail maintenance project in Torres del Paine and built TPF's website. She continues to assist TPF with website maintenance and fundraising. Lyn Guittard Lyn hosted TPF's initial launch party and is now assisting TPF with fundraising. |
